Villamartin Golf Course Review

The Villamartin golf course terrain is a mixture of hills and valleys surrounded by mature trees and vegetation but water hazards are not as numerous as on the more recently constructed courses.

The front nine holes take in the highest point of the course offering some spectacular views of the Mediterranean Sea with the second nine situated more in valleys with ravines coming into play on several holes, with tree lined fairways, dog-legs and blind shots all adding to the golfing mix that is Villamartin golf course.

The relatively short 7th hole is a good example of golf at Villamartin being a sharp left to right, cork tree lined, dog leg hole of only approximately 300 metres which should be driven from the tee as you can easily get into trouble trying to play too safe on this hole.

The signature hole for the course however, is the 17th which is reputed to be one of the best par threes in Spain. It is 220 metres long from an elevated back tee requiring a long carry over a valley to the two tiered green. The green is notoriously difficult being surrounded by trees and bunkers but the view from the tee down to the green is fabulous. Villamartin golf course will undoubtedly provide a most memorable, challenging and enjoyable days golfing.
